Jewelry - "Paper Beads" Necklace
Supplies:
Club Scrap’s Bead Stamp from Outdoors kit
Rubberstamps
Wire
Various regular beads
Modge Podge
Crimp beads, clasps
This is a fun little project.
1. Using the template from the “Outdoors” kit, cut out some strips of paper.
2. Rubberstamp images onto paper strips.
3. Using a skewer, roll up your paper strips onto it and adhere closed using modge podge. Let dry.
4. Cover entire paper bead with modge podge, let dry. This will give the bead a layer of protection and provides a great glossy look to your beads.
5. String your paper beads alternating with regular beads onto wire and finish off ends with clasps.
Have fun!! Deb

Jewelry - Beaded Safety Pin Pendant
I created these little beaded safety pin pendants for the grandma’s for mother’s day this year. They are quick and easy.
Supplies:
Large Safety pins (without the coil, I got mine at Joann’s in the beading aisle)
Beads (Club scrap ones work excellent, if you buy at store tho, go with the mini pony beads, the others that we bought, wouldn’t fit around the end of the pin (or would break), for some reason the Club Scrap ones must be a higher quality or something, they just worked better.)
Shrink plastic (or you can improvise with transparencies, or laminated photos)
Crafter’s pick glue
Head pin with a loop
Jump ring
Hole punch
Beading tool pliers
Instructions:
1. Start by getting your picture ready. There is a few options for doing this. My preferred method is the shrink plastic, because it is see through, durable and like a little charm when completed, but the transparency or laminated versions work nicely too.
Shrink plastic Method: Choose your photo and change the brightness on the photo, so that it is lighter. When the photo shrinks it will darken the photo back up. If you don’t lighten it, it may be too dark of a photo when you are done. Make sure you find shrink plastic that is clear and meant for the kind of printer you are using. GENERALLY….Print the photos out approximated twice the size you want the final charm size to be….so if you want a 1x1 inch photo charm print it at 2x2 – THIS CAN AND WILL VARY depending on your shrink plastic, so be sure and read your package…shrink plastic does not always shrink to the same exact size every time. Then cut out your photos, punch a hole (standard size) now, before you shrink it. You can either use a heat gun to shrink or the oven (I cook at 325 degrees and just watch for them to shrink, you will know because they will first curl up and then start to flatten back out) I use a wooden spatula or the like to help flatten them – do this while they are still warm. Then let cool.
Transparency Method: Print small photos onto transparencies (make sure they are the ones designed for your kind of printer), cut out and punch with teeny hole punch.
Laminate Method: Print 2 copies of the small photos, cut out both and adhere back-to-back and laminate. Punch hole with teeny hole punch.
2. Add a jump ring to the tiny photo and loop in the loop on the head pin.
3. Bead on 3 or so beads.
4. Using beading pliers, bend end of head pin around, creating another loop.
5. Take safety pin and bead on half the pin worth of beads, add the photo dangly, then the rest of the beads.
6. Slide all the beads to the end of the pin and add a drop of crafter’s pick glue, let dry. This will keep all the beads on the one side of the pin, so they don’t go trying to fall off when you (or whomever) goes to wear it.
Good luck and have fun!!

Project Tutorial - Wooden Block Wall Art
I received these 9 wooden blocks from Club Scrap’s “Chapter One” Stamp Kit. I decided to alter the wood blocks into a wall hanging for my scrapbook/stamp room. Each of the four sides says some thing different – “Create” “Stamp it” “Scrapbook” and “Inspire” – I embellished with lots of ribbon and flowers.
Instructions:
1. Drill holes in wood blocks.
2. Cut cardstock into pieces the size of the wood blocks.
3. Using modge podge and adhere cardstock to blocks. Let dry.
4. String blocks onto long piece of ribbon.
5. Tie 3 short strips of ribbon in between each block on the center ribbon. This will hold the blocks apart on the ribbon as it hangs.
6. Cover chipboard (or magnetic letters as I found at the dollar store) with cardstock with modge podge.
7. Adhere to the blocks using Crafter’s Pick glue.
8. Embellish any block that doesn’t house a letter with a flower.
Hope you enjoy this tutorial! Good luck and have fun!!

Project Tutorial - Altered Wooden game pieces
This is the cutest little itty bitty book. My friend gave me a whole bag of these little wooden discs she had from some game (I think called Bottle Topps, there was a large wooden bottle and a ton of these little wooden discs, you apparently stack on the wooden bottle) and she just knew I could create something with them. This is my first attempt with them. Most all materials used in these projects are from Club Scrap.
Supply List:
(2) Wooden discs
Brown ink
Cardstock
Cut outs/stickers
Ribbon
Charms
glue dots
Various circle & square punches
1. Take brown ink and ink the wooden discs.
2. Circle punch 1 1/2 inch circles. You will need an odd number of pages. I cut 6, to make a 3 page book.
3. Square punch out 3/4 in squares. These will be the hinges in the book.
4. Put the book together by place the square punch like a triangle between two circles. Trim the circle up to the square. This will allow the circles to actually open and close up, otherwise they won't. Repeat until you have a chain of these then length you desire. On the beginning and ending circle, you do not need to trim anything.
5. Now you can decide at this point if you want to do an accordian book or a regular book, I did a regular book for this first project. I ran the ribbon around the back of the book and adhered in between the first and last circles and the wooden discs. This will allow you to tie from the edge of the book. If you want to do an accordion - I would adhere the ribbon to just the backside disc only (so you could tie it in front, holding the whole book together).
6. Cut (2) 1 1/4 in circles for front and back covers.
7. Embellish pages as desired.
Here is another version I made doing the accordion method. This one is much harder to tie, so keep that in mind if you plan on making this kind.
Have fun and good luck!

Attach the following saying to a bag of M&M's. |
M&M's and more M&M's. Each color is a different cure, of this fact we are sure. When you're feeling grouchy and mean, we recommend the green. For times when you're feeling down, the best choice is always brown. The ache in your head is cured by the red. To help you be mellow, take a dose of the yellow. If agitated too, eat a handful of blue. If you whole life's a drag, just eat the whole bag. Should weight gain be included as part of a warning? Forget that! You can start your diet Monday morning. |
