 Supply List:
Canvas (8x10)
Gelatos (metallic)
Ink pads
Gesso
Gel medium
Fabric flowers
Rubberstamps
Ribbon

Instructions:
1.  Paint canvas with gesso, let dry.
2.  Use Metallic red gelato in the center of the canvas, spritz with water and rub around with finger to blend all together.  Use Metallic green gelato around the edge of the canvas, spritz with water and rub with finger to blend.  Let dry.

 If you find that the colors are too dark or too bright, you can use a baby wipe and remove spots of color:

3.  Ink up Wisteria stamp with Metallic green on the stem, Metallic purple on most of the flowers, and Metallic silver in the very center of the flowers.

 Spritz with water and stamp around up edge of frame, repeat until shown as below:

Repeat with leaves around the lower edge of frame.  Let dry.
4.  Rubberstamp "Amazing" sentiment (from the Up Up & Away kit) with green ink onto some of the patterned paper from the Wisteria kit.  Cut out.  Adhere to the canvas using gel medium.

5.  Outline the word 'amazing' with black marker or gelatos.

6.  Stamp various images around the canvas.
7.  Stamp words onto flower petals, 3 in green ink, 3 in purple ink.  Ink edges of flower petals.  Attach to the canvas using brads.

8.  Stamp 'butterfly' on white paper, color in with watercolor paints, trim out and attach to canvas with brads.

Jewelry Organizer

Soooo with all the jewelry I have been making, I decided I needed someplace to put it all. So I went out and purchased a 10x14 photo frame to convert into the jewelry organizer.

Supply list:
Photo frame
Paint (teal, purple)
Gesso (white)
Mat board
aluminum screening material (Home depot)
Ribbon
Cardstock
Adhesive
Staples/Stapler


FRAME:
1. Paint wooden frame with white gesso. Let dry.

2. Paint about a 4-5 in. section with teal and then next section in purple, leaving just a small sliver of white showing between the two colors of paint. Let dry.

BACK/CENTER:
3. Remove glass and mat board from frame. Cover mat board with patterned cardstock.

4. Cut 1/2 inch strips of matboard and adhere along each of the four edges.

5. Cut a piece of aluminum screening mesh the size of the mat board. Staple to the 1/2 in matboard pieces.

6. Insert back into frame. On mine - some of the 1/2 in mat board pieces where showing, so I adhered ribbon around all four edges.

7. Measure and mark a dot 1 inch apart all along the lower edge of the frame. Drill small starter holes and then screw in cup holder hooks into frame. I also added 2 hooks along each of the sides.

Going with my rainbow wall art - I needed at least one more piece to balance out on my wall, so this is the latest piece I created. I did sort of a graduated 'dream catcher' technique that spanned all of the colors of the rainbow. Each layer has a fun and unique fiber. To finish it off I stamped the butterfly stamp from ClubScrap's Outdoor kit and added a fun 3D touch to the wall hanging. I put the piece inside a shadow box. I think it turned out very nice and looks great on my wall.

Cruise Project - Postcard 3

This was the 3rd one - this one we cut up the photo and used colored adhesive and we added a ton of texture to the edges using toilet paper!! Too fun!!

Cruise Project 4 - First one...

This was another WAY COOL project - we made fairly large 'mailable' postcards. So we decorated the fronts using various embellishments and techniques these are done on matboard, making a nice firm base to work from. On the backside, we drew the typical postcard lines for adding a mailing address.

This first one has seashells & netting adhered to the front and some stickers and some gesso. We also used another substance for the wheel in the stencil - can't exactly remember the name of it...but it has dimension to it.

Cruise Project 3 - Paper Veneer

This had to be one of my most favorite techniques we learned on the cruise. It is a faux "Veneer" look using just plain old cardstock, ClubScraps bookbinding glue and ink....

This particular project is very 3Dish and sits on a stand, but I didn't get the photo taken with it. I still need to add a photo to the photo mat.

This looks way better in real life - the flash sorta washed the colors out some...anyways you get the idea.

Folding Double Frame

Supplies needed:
-Kraft double frame kit (vendor??)
-Cardstock (Club Scrap Avant Garde Kit)
-Extacto knife
-Ribbon (Club Scrap Avant Garde Kit)
-Photos
-Adhesive

Embellishements (paperclips, stickers, cut outs, etc.)

The base of this project I pulled out of a kit that came with other papers and embellishements that were just too girly and cutesy for my boys and such. I can’t remember the name of the company who produced the kit.

1. Using the base of the project as my template, I traced around it onto cardstock and then trimmed out with scissors and exacto knife. There is small slits in the base that the ribbon runs through, so I used the knife to trim those out.
2. You will cover both the front and the back of the base using the same steps as step 1.
3. Ink all edges of the cardstock as desired and then adhere to the base.
4. Weave your ribbon through the holes leaving enough ribbon on each end to be able to tie the frames closed when all done. Adhere the ribbon behind the ribbon to the base.
5. Add photos and adhere to two front flaps (the ones with the openings for the photos) to the back of the base (the back of the frame.
6. Add any desired embellishments as desired.

Digital Hybrid - Quad Folding Free-standing Frame

I created this folding frame for my Mother-In-Law for Mother’s day this year. It will be great, since it folds up nicely and I can mail it to her. The majority of the supplies used in project are from ClubScrap.com.

Supplies needed:

* 7x7 matboard (4 pieces)
* 2 digital layouts (ClubScrap “Avant Garde” digital kit)
* Cardstock (ClubScrap “Avant Garde” kit)
* Adhesive
* Embellishments (ClubScrap “Avant Garde” kit)
* Zutter Bind-it-all binding machine (or you could improvise and use a hole punch)
* Metal binding for Zutter – (3 pieces) 6 prong section (cut with wire cutters)

1. Cut 8 pieces of 7x7 cardstock in coordinating colors. Adhere onto the matboard using modge podge.

2. Adhere the two digital layouts to (2) of the pages.

3. Adhere more cardstock pieces and various coordinating embellishments to the other two pages. Basically creating a 4 page spread.

4. Add embellishments or cardstock pieces to the back side of all the 4 pages if desired.

5. Once you have all the pages designed as desired. Center each page into the Zutter and cut/punch a set of 6 holes. First page will just have one set of hole on the right hand side, the next two pages will have holes on both sides, last page will just have holes on the left hand side.

6. Insert 2 of the pages together into the metal binding and bind with machine. Repeat binding all the pages as shown in the photo.

7. Once completed, the project closes very nicely and is great for shipping.

Digital Hybrid - PhotoCube - Valentine's Day Gift...

This is the Valentine's Day gift I made for the grand- parent's last year - I am a huge fan of doing Hybrid projects - you know what I mean - mixing digital with non-digital to create something fun and unique!!

I picked up these clear acrylic cubes at the Dollar store and then just proceeded to finish the project as described below.

Supplies needed:

~ClubScrapDigital “From the Heart” digital kit
~Acrylic photo block
~Paper trimmer
~Printer
~Adhesive

1. Create a new layout in your digital photo editing program, 3.5 x 3.5 (or whatever size your acrylic block holds).

2. Using this new layout, create a total of 6 mini layouts.

3. Print out your mini layouts either at home on printer, or upload and have printed professionally. You can just resize your canvas size to a common size like 4x6 – when they print it professionally, the extra space will just print out as white, and you can just trim the excess off.

4. Trim out your mini layouts.

5. Open up your acrylic box and adhere your mini layouts to the box inside.

6. Put your acrylic box back together for display.

Valentine's Day "Hanging Mobile"

Me and my boys made this fun mobile as a craft project. When we get bored, we get busy!! This hangs over our table from the light fixture. The majority of the materials used here are from ClubScrap!

Supplies needed:

~(2) 12x12 cardstocks (for mobile itself)
~Cardstock scraps (for cutting hearts)
~Red furry fibers
~Black waxed thread
~Various beads
~Ribbon
~Sizzix “Heart” diecut/machine
~Modge podge
~Crafter’s Pick adhesive
~Scissors
~Pencil
~Rubberstamps and ink
~Bone folder (score tool)
~Hole punch

Instructions:

Mobile:

1. Using modge podge adhere the (2) 12x12 pieces of cardstock together, back to back. Let dry.

2. Using a pencil, lightly draw a circle from edge of cardstock in a spiral pattern into center of the cardstock insuring to leave about 1.5-2 inch width. This doesn’t need to be perfect, you won’t notice once it is done and hanging.

3. Using scissors, cut along the lines you drew in step 2. Once cut, erase any pencil marks.

4. Rubberstamp valentine day images and/or sentiments onto the mobile.

5. Adhere fuzzy red ribbon to edge of mobile, the full length, using Crafter’s Pick liquid adhesive. Let dry.

Hearts:

1. Using the sizzix machine, cut out 5 hearts per 3D heart.

2. Using bone folder, score a line down the center of each heart, and fold along that crease.

3. Adhere all the hearts together back to back, but before you adhere the last heart, insert the end of one of the wax threads. Let each of these hearts completely dry before proceeding.

4. Add beads as desired on the waxed thread just above the 3D heart.

Add heart strings to Mobile:

1. Using hold punch, punch a hold in the center of the mobile in various locations along the mobile.

2. Run the end of the waxed thread through that hole, add a large bead, and tie off.

3. On the 3D heart located in the very center of the mobile, add a piece of ribbon at the top – to use to hang the mobile.

Domino Wall Art

Supplies:

16 Dominos
Gold ink: Brilliance
Copper ink: Brilliance
Black ink: Stazon
All rubberstamps: Club Scrap
Glue: Crafter’s Pick
Black acrylic paint
Mat board
Heat gun

Instructions:

1. Ink edges and the back (flat) side of 8 Dominoes in gold ink and 8 Dominos in copper ink. You will need to heat set each side as you ink it to set the ink and make it dry.
2. Once ink is dry, arrange your dominos as shown in diagram.
3. Choose your rubberstamps and stamp images and sentiments with black Stazon ink, let dry.
4. Ink top edges of each domino to sort of “frame” the words and images. You can do this either direct-to-pad or using a sponge for a softer look. Let dry.
5. Cut a piece of mat board just under 5in x 5in. Paint the center of the mat board black. Let dry.
6. Apply glue to mat board all around the edges (not in the very center where there will be no domino) and start adhering the dominos to the mat board. I also put a bit of glue on the edges of the dominoes to ensure they would hold together (especially on those few dominos that hang over the edge of the mat board).
7. Glue hanger to back of mat board, let dry.

Finished wall hanging is approximately 7in x 7in.

Another Domino Project - Frames!!

Domino Serving Tray

This is a beautiful tray, makes a great gift item. You can also put a hanger on it, and hang it on the wall. The tray you get at Walmart is not real large, so nice size for the wall. Depending on your tray, you may need to cut one of your dominos in half to make it all work perfectly. I had my hubby cut it with the bandsaw, but he said you could use a handsaw or stroll saw as well. Also if your particular tray has a small gap along the edge, you could run a small piece of dowel along each edge of the tray to eliminate the gap. Mine had a tiny gap, too small for a dowel, so I just centered all my dominoes and left the tiny gap. Most all rubberstamps in project shown are from Club Scrap.

Supply List:
Unfinished serving tray
Dominoes, Jumbo size (1.5 in x 2 in)
Crafter’s Pick glue or other permanent glue
Black spray paint
Cotton Balls
Various Rubberstamps
Stazon ink (or you can use Brilliance inks)

Instructions

1. Spray paint wooden tray. I recommend painting several light coats, letting each coat dry before apply additional coats, until tray is solid black on all edges, front, and back.
2. Use Stazon ink and ink all four edges of the dominoes. I just took the domino and slide it right over the ink pad to ink up the edges. Set aside to dry for a few hours or overnight.
3. Place dominoes into tray however you find attractive to the eye, I usually do two horizontal and then two vertical across the whole tray. If I have a large stamp, then I would use three dominoes in a row and then a single in another spot with a small rubber stamp.
4. Chose your rubberstamps and pull out which ever set of dominoes you prefer to use. If you use mounted rubberstamps you can stamp directly onto the set of dominoes. With unmounted rubberstamps, I find flipping the rubberstamp upside down and pressing the dominoes onto the stamp gives you a better image. When using the Stazon ink, clean your stamps immediately after using them. Stazon makes a special ink remover as well. Once image is on dominoes, place back into tray, being careful not to touch image (otherwise you might smear it). Let all images dry for a few hours or overnight before proceeding.
5. Now that the images are dry, take a cotton ball and dab into the Stazon ink and dab the edges of the front of each domino around the image. This gives the dominoes a more muted edge versus the sharp edge from step 2’s inking edge. Let this dry for a few hours.
6. Now at this point, if you want to seal your dominoes with a spray sealer, go ahead and do that. Let dry.
7. You will want to work fairly quickly on this step, so that the glue doesn’t dry completely before you get all your dominoes into place and properly centered. So once all the ink is dry, then remove a few of the dominoes at a time and apply glue to the tray and set your dominoes into the glue. By doing just a few at a time you won’t mess up your pattern and layout. Use a glue that dry clears, just in case any glue creeps up through the cracks. Let this dry.
8. Now I did not seal this myself, if the tray is to be used as a tray, you may want to apply a sealer of some sort, I am guessing a brush on sealer would be best.

Merry Christmas and Necklace Holder project!

This is another one of Club Stamp’s fabulous monthly kits. Kind of hard to see it in the photo, but there is 5 hooks at the lower bottom of this hanging piece of art. This can be a necklace or even a great key holder.

Supplies needed:

* Club Stamp kit – includes board, hooks, paper clay.
* Rubberstamps
* Inks
* fibers
* Crafters Pick adhesive
* Eyelets
* Eyelet setting tools

1. The Club Stamp kit provides instructions for putting the main project together.
2. I embellished the hooks with flower beads.
3. I rubberstamped the “Let me count the ways” HAND rubberstamp into the paper clay, inked edges and adhered using crafter’s pick
4. I used frilly fibers to wrap around the paper clay image, to wrap around the base at the top of the hooks, and as the piece strung through the eyelets, to hang the holder from a hook on the wall.

Used the Let Me Count The Ways Kit from Club Scrap for papers and rubberstamps in this project.

"Advent Tree" Altered Cookie Sheet

Supplies:
1 metal baking pan
Alcohol Inks: Ranger Industries
Inks: Ranger Industries
Plastic Disks: Rollabind
Glossy Accents: Ranger Industries
Small circle magnets:
Glue Dots
Rubberstamps: Club Scrap
Pattern paper: Club Scrap
Modge Podge
Polycrylic Gloss Overcoat

Instructions:

1. Using felt applicator, and a q-tip as needed, apply cranberry alcohol ink to the edges and inside of the metal baking pan. Let dry.
2. Cut background pattern paper to fix the backside of the metal pan, round corners. Ink edges.
3. Apply a coat of modge podge to the backside of the metal pan, put down the pattern paper, apply another coat of modge podge. Let dry.
4. Take pattern paper with the tree image, and carefully tear out the tree. Ink edges of the torn image.
5. Apply a coat of modge podge to the backside of the tree image and lay image down onto the background paper, apply another coat of modge podge over tree image.
6. Take pattern paper with ‘presents’ images, cut out presents, ink edges.
7. Stamp an image of the “sled” on the red cardstock and the “star” on cream cardstock, trim out image, ink edges.
8. Apply a coat of modge podge to the backside of the “presents” and “sled” images and lay images down onto the background paper at the base of the tree, place the “star” at the top of the tree, apply another coat of modge podge over these images. Let dry.
9. Once completely dry, spray entire backside of pan with a clear polycrylic protective spray. Do 2-3 coats, allowing appropriate dry time in between coats per instructions on canister.
10. To create the “ornaments,” get 25 white rollabind disks. Using alcohol inks, color the oraments with eggplant, caramel, cranberry, and pesto. Let dry.
11. Punch small cream colored circles that fit inside the rollabind disks.
12. Stamp numbers 1 through 25 onto the circles.
13. Put a drop of glossy accents into the rollobind disc, then place the circle punch in, press into the glossy accents, finish by covering the circle with a coat of the glossy accents. Let dry.
14. On the backside of each rollabind disc, use 3D glue dots to attach magnet discs.
15. If your pan doesn’t have a hole in the upper handle, you can drill one. Now you can hang on the wall. You can store all the magnets on the inside of the pan and add them one at a time for each day to the front of the pan on the “tree”.

Inch by Inch...

Do you have a lot of that beautiful CLUB SCRAP scraps laying around? Or pounds and pounds of POPS waiting to be fondled and turned into some HAPPY wall art??? This piece of art work really really just makes me smile everytime I look at it…when I told my hubby that it makes me happy to look at it, he said – “Make a whole bunch of them, and hang em all over the house!!” What a guy!! Supplies needed:
>Frame – this particular frame I used is actually a corkboard that I just painted black
>Cardstock, patterned and colored (Club Scrap)
>Embellishments, like fibers, brads, clips, buttons, charms, flowers, etc.
>Crafter’s Pick adhesive
>Stickles glitter glue (this is the best stuff, don’t waste your time with cheap alternatives IMO)

1. Cut the following:

(9) 1 in. x 1 in. squares in shades of PINK (Kits: Fizz, Stratosphere)
(9) 1 in. x 1 in. squares in shades of RED (Kits: From the Heart, LMCTW, Wheels/Sprockets)
(9) 1 in. x 1 in. squares in shades of ORANGE (Kits: Salsa, Poetic, Avante Garde, Rhapsody, Bistro, Surfs up)
(9) 1 in. x 1 in. squares in shades of YELLOW (Kits: Mosaic, Rhapsody, Poetic, Down to Earth, Bistro)
(9) 1 in. x 1 in. squares in shades of GREEN (Kits: Refresh, Mosaic, Outdoors, Farmers Market)

2. Ink all edges of all the little ‘inchies’ with a complementary colored ink.

3. Rubberstamp various words, images, and sentiments in black ink onto squares.

4. Add any embellishments you have in your stash that matches the color family you are working with….like flowers, game pieces, fibers, safety pin, brads, clipiolas, etc

5. Adhere the inchies to the black frame using Crafter’s Pick adhesive. Let dry.

6. This step REALLY adds to your project IMO - Add Stickles (glitter glue) as a final decoration. Do little dots, maybe centers of flowers or stamped images, outline the inchies, whatever looks good. Let dry.

Instructions:

1. Take plain paper plate, paint it base color. Let Dry
2. Take image stamp and using versamark ink and rubberstamp just the edge of the plate. Use gold embossing powder and heat with heat gun to emboss.
3. Take Gold accent pen and run along edge of entire plate.
4. Cut 6 inch circle, adhere to bottom of plate.
5. Cut 3 inch circle of photo, and a 3.5 in circle for photo mat (ink edges). Adhere both to bottom of plate on the 6 inch circle. Photo circle is about 3.25 inch in center of mat.
6. Cut a 7 inch circle, then cut another 4 inch circle in the center of the 7 inch circle. Ink all edges.
7. Now to get ready to do the faux sun catcher, cut a 4 inch circle out of a scratch piece of copy paper (thin paper, rather than cardstock). Fold the circle in half. Fold this in half again. And one more time. Unfold and make a little tick mark at each of the fold lines. Now make another tick mark half way between each of those tick marks, for a total of 16 tick marks.
8. Place the template into the center of the 7 inch circle in the 4 inch circle, with the back side of the 7 inch circle facing up. Now transfer the tick marks onto the 7 inch circle.
9. Use the hole punch and punch at the ticks marks, about 1/8th of an inch from the center.
10. Take DMC floss and tape the end to the backside of the circles. Use a seed bead needle, thread up through your first hole, add some seed beads, count to the right to the fourth hole and thread down to the back, come up through the next hole to the right. Repeat process until each hole has two threads through it, one up and one down. Tape off end on backside.
11. For bottle cap title. Flatten bottle caps using a rubber mallet or Sizzix machine (with the Sizzlets attachment). Punch a circle to fit inside bottle cap, ink edges and rubberstamp letter. Fill bottle cap with glossy accents and set punched letter into it. Cover the punched circle completely with glossy accents. Let dry, takes a while, usually overnight works best.
12. Attach 7 inch circle to the paper plate using Crafter’s Pick glue. Let dry.
13. Cut small strips of ribbon and staple to the paper plate. Create a title block with coordinating cardstock and using rubberstamps.
14. Uses Crafter’s pick glue to adhere the bottle cap title to plate, let dry.
15. Take shower curtain rings and cover with versamark and dip into embossing powder. Emboss with heat gun. Cover all three rings entirely, turning them from silver to gold.
16. Take shower curtain rings and trace around them on a piece of color coordinating cardstock. Cut three of these, just a tad bit smaller than the tracing. Ink edges. Attach the rings to the cardstock using crafter’s pick glue and let dry.
17. Punch hole and set an eyelet at the top of the ring. Repeat on all three.
18. Punch out 3 small photos that fit inside the curtain ring and adhere. Cover the photos and fill the ring – leaving the opening at the eyelet – with glossy accents. Let dry overnight.
19. Now punch hole and set eyelet in center of bottom of plate. Punch and set eyelet evenly spaced – approximately 2 inches – from the center eyelet. Use jump rings to attach the curtain rings to the paper plate.
20. Use Crafter’s pick glue and attach strip of fiber around edge of 7 inch circle to sort of frame up the paper.
21. Add a hanger to the back of the plate – for hanging on the wall.

Project Tutorial - Photo Tiles

Photo Transferred Tumbled Tiles

You can use 4x4in tiles for coasters; 2x2in tiles for magnets; or even 6x6 tiles for hot plates. This is a great gift idea especially for the grandparents. You can do your photos in color or black and white. They turn out wonderful either way. You can used glazed or tumbled tiles depending on your final look you are going for. I prefer the tumbled tiles myself.

Supplies needed:
4x4 tiles (coasters) OR

minwax polycrylic clear sealer
felt feet for coasters
magnets for fridge magnets
permanent glue

There is many ways to do this, but this is my version of it.

1. I took the original photo and changed to black and white and resized to fit on the tile. I did a little photo editing in that I gave the edge of my photos sort of a torn edge. (You can print normally tho, and then physically tear the tissue paper to give the project a torn edge). I printed the actual photograph onto regular paper first – my reasoning for this – is so I would know exactly where to place the tissue paper when I ran it back through the printer for the final printing on the tissue. You could just run a big enough piece of tissue to cover most of the copy paper, I was just trying to eliminate the possibility of jamming my printer.
2. So printed my photo about 3.5 x 3.5 in on the regular copy paper, and then taped a piece of tissue paper (about 4in x 4in) to the copy paper (with removable tape) over the original image and ran it back through the printer. So to clarify, now there is an “test” image on the copy paper and the actual image I am going to use on the tissue paper.
3. Then I trimmed around the edge of the image making sure it fit on the final item.
4. I then covered the tile or domino with a thin coat of modge podge.
5. Gently lay the image down starting in the middle and going out. Be very careful here…the image will tear very easily, so try not to manipulate too much.
6. Then cover the entire image with modge podge carefully and allow to dry.
7. Coaster only: Once dry, seal with 2-3 coats of polycrylic sealer, let sealer dry in between coats. Add felt or cork feet using permanent adhesive.
8. Magnet only: Once dry, cover with coat of glossy accents and let dry. Add magnet using quality permanent adhesive.

Note: Some other gals recommended using vellum instead of tissue, so you may want to give that a try if tissue doesn’t work for you.
