Golf Retirement gift - "Golf bag"

Well I have a co-worker that is retiring and heading into days of golf and relaxation.  I wanted to make her a little gift to say goodbye...and this is what I came up with...

It is a small round box, that is suppose to look like a golf bag, that holds 3 pink golf balls.  I just created a cylinder with a decorative base and a decorative lid that comes off, for easy access to the balls.  I added a handle, attached with silver brads and a cute little faux pocket on the front.  On each side I added a purple Tee.  I free cut a tag that looks similar to a golf iron with her name.

These gorgeous patterned papers are from ClubScrap's "Bon Appetite" kit!

My first response!!

Well I went on a little vacation out of town and made up a bunch of these earrings in little boxes to leave around the town I was visiting.  I think I left a total of 8 different ones, in various public areas, restaurants, and motels.  I was soooo excited to receive a response for one of the gifts left.  It basically said where she found and that she had been on a vacation to the same city, but was hot, tired, and frustrated with the folks she was traveling with, she said that finding the earrings was a very nice surprise and that it really brightened her day.  That right there - made MY day!  Just knowing that I am spreading a bit of joyfulness to folks, makes my day!  That being said, I have to travel out of again in a week or so for work and have been busily making more goodies to leave in various places there too!  This is soooo much fun for me!

Art Abandonment

Boy things have been busy...too many vacations (not that there's anything wrong with that...other than I am behind on posting stuff) to keep up with the blog.  I have still been finding time to create but just not post!  I will try and be better, but I do have one more work trip coming up here in early August.

On my last vacation - I took a whole gallon size baggie full of Art Abandonment gifts for leaving in various locations.  I left one on the airplane, a couple in the airport and others in various restaurants and motels.

I kinda feel like I do in December when the little elves show up and move about the house, hiding in various locations.  I know it is different, but I get the same exhilaration from the anticipation of others finding my little goodies and can envision the smile on their faces!

I made this particular 'envelope' using Clubscrap cardstock following the instructions in this attached YouTube Video.  Using cardstock vs. paper weight paper is a lot more difficult on this project.  I did make it work and it is a nice sturdy envelope for holding the earrings, but it took a bit of training to get the folds to stay tight.

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th dear followers!!  Hope you are having a wonderful day with your friends and family!

I actually got a few minutes to sneak into the scrap room whilst the boys rode bikes up to the fireworks stand and the bank.

Have you all heard about the latest movement in the art world called "Art Abandonment"?  Check it out here and see how it all started and find the link to the facebook group.

Well a few of my fellow scrapbooking friends have jumped on the art abandonment wagon and I just couldn't help jumping on too!  What a fun way to share my love of art with random folks!!  I hope I can brighten someone's day!

Today was my first day of leaving a lil goodie around town.  Here is the little gift I left for unsuspecting soul in the 'lobby' of one of our local groceries stores in amongst the 'free' local papers and real estate rags.   I made a small envelope to hold a set of earrings I made and then attached the note about it being a gift, etc.  I used all cardstocks from ClubScrap's Bon Appetite kit.
