Instructions:
Get your 6 matchboxes and empty out the matches for using some other time - this is the placement of how you will be adhering them together when the time comes:
Using black acrylic paint - paint one end of the boxes and on two of them the sides. I also painted the drawers, as shown:Get your 6 matchboxes and empty out the matches for using some other time - this is the placement of how you will be adhering them together when the time comes:
Once painted, place in this pattern and adhere together with liquid adhesive:
Cut a piece of card stock 7.5in x 5.75in. Score on long edge at 3.5in and 4in (this will be the spine). This piece wraps around the matchboxes, creating the casing for the matchboxes.
Wrap the scored piece around the boxes and adhere using modge podge or similar as shown:
Decorate drawer fronts with pattern paper and add buttons using waxed thread:
Add a ribbon to the back side of the piece, use pattern paper to cover the attached ribbon, cut smaller than box as shown:
Cut out (5) pieces of card stock for the accordion album - each piece is 5.75x7in - fold each in half as shown:
Adhere the pages together as shown creating accordion:
Adhere the accordion album to the matchbox box:
Now - just decorate the pages with diecuts, flowers, brads, wooden tags, ribbons, etc:
There is all sorts of little things you could put into the drawers. You could put some candies, mints, coins, cash, small gifts like earbuds, rings, dice, lip balm, stickers, usb drive, sd cards, hair clips, gum, etc. I made a little key ring charm to put into one of the drawers using a bottle cap and glossy accents, once dry I put on a little chain.
I also made some jewelry and put into the little drawers, there is earrings, bracelet, and a necklace.
I also put some gardening charms into one of the drawers.
