Club Scrap June Artist Challenge

Travel Journal

I am headed to the coast in about a week and decided to make a travel journal that I can fill out while we travel and then I can add photos upon our return.

Supplies needed:
Cardstock
Envelopes
Rubberstamps
Embellishments

Instructions:
I used 2 sizes of envelopes - 5 larger and 1 smaller - I sealed all the envelopes closed, then trimmed the edge to open them up - I trimmed 1 of the larger ones a little shorter than the other 4.  Punch circles to create half circlular openings.  Use adhesive and run a single line of glue down the center of envelopes and glue the envelopes together.   Ink edges and rubberstamp map image onto the envelopes.
Cut tags to fit envelopes.  Punch circles and bend in half and place over ends of tag tops and staple ribbons and half circles to tag.
Cut some mat board to create outer cover.  6x4 3/4; 6x1 for spine.  Adhere mat board to cardstock.  Trim corners as shown.
Adhere flaps to mat board.  Cut cardstock to cover inside cover.
Cut 4 pieces of patterned cardstock 8.5x5.5, fold in half.  Pierce holes 1/2 inch from each edge of each of the 4 signatures.  Punch holes in cover spine to attach the signatures to the spine as shown.
Adhere the set of envelopes to the left side of the inside cover and insert the tags.  Embellish pages and front cover with ribbons and stamped images, etc.

  4. Thanks for the super tutorial! Super ideas . . . like, bending a circle punch in half over the top of a tag. Or, using two different-sized envelopes, and then cutting them shorter. Genius! (As always.)

  6. That's my goal too - to make a travel album before our trip to the Gulf Coast in late July. I love this album. I might even add stack-the-deck hinges (a la Laura Denison) to put more space between the signatures. Thanks for the fab ideas!

  7. Thanks for sharing -- this is filled with great ideas for an album that can be used to manage memorabilia from a road trip.
