Father's Day idea - Faux Men's Wallet

Well I have just started recovering from an awful case of the flu, really knocked me down and out for pretty much 2 weeks....
But as I promised all of you dear and loyal friends and followers, that I would post the instructions to this Faux Men's wallet - just in time for Father's Day - as it really is a perfect gift for the man/men in your life.  Of course, you could always frilly it up and make for Mother's day as well - would fit nicely into a purse as well!  In this particular project I used ClubScrap's Tilescape kit.

Faux Men’s Wallet

Final ‘closed’ wallet size 6in x 7in
Final ‘opened’ wallet size 12in x 7in

Instructions:
1.       Create base wallet:  Cut (1) 12in x 7in, cut (1) 12in x 6-3/4 in – score both pieces at the half way mark of 6in, adhere these two pieces together along the left side, right side and bottom edges. Ink edges with blue ink.

2.       Create insert for sliding into base wallet.  Cut (1) 10-3/4in x 6-1/2in, fold in half.  Ink edges, add photos.

3.       Create pockets on left side:  Cut (1) 5-1/4 in x 6in, cut (1) 5-1/4 in x 5-1/8 in, cut (2) 5-1/4 x 4-3/4  in.  On one of the two pieces,  5-1/4in x 4-3/4in, use an xacto knife can cut out a window 3-3/4in x 4-3/4in.  On the negative side of this piece, adhere a piece of acetate, adhere the 2nd (same sized piece) to this piece on left side, right side, and bottom edges (creating a pocket, so you can swap photos out later if desired).  Adhere this pocket to the other two larger pieces as shown on 3 edge creating pockets for tags.  Adhere the pockets to the wallet.  Tags:  3-3/4in x 4-1/4in (round corners, add photo),  4-3/4in x 4-1/4in (round corners, add photo)

4.       Create flip pages on right side:  Cut (5) pieces  4-1/4in x 6in.  Score all pieces along left side 1/4in from edge.  Adhere along that scored edge to the wallet, staggering each page as shown.  Each page will move ¼ in to the right and align up with the score line of the previous page.  Add photos and embellishments as desired.

Final wallet will look something like this:

Digital Layout - Policia Turistica

There was lots of police out and about in Cabo, we found eventually, that it was due to a policeman having been killed a couple weeks earlier.  It was just so odd to see them carrying rifles instead of just a hand gun.

Digital Layout - The Crazy Lobster

One of my mom's favorite restaurants to eat at in Cabo is The Crazy Lobster.  We ate here twice on this trip.  You can get Lobster and steak (shrimp or scallops) for $14.95. Great deal.  Also 80 cent shots of Tequila.

Digital layout - Mexican Grocery Stores

It was a very interesting time visiting the local grocery stores.  They leave a lot of their meat out in the open and there was flies landing on it.  Hard to think that we were probably actually eating food that had been left out like that and purchased by restaurants to serve us....

Digital Layout - Cocktail hour

We hit Costco and picked up some booze for the week, we also stopped and picked up mixer...for the mixer we opted for Orange Juice - problem was - the OJ turned out to be just like Sunny Delight...not quite the same flavor as a "screwdriver" or "tequila sunrise" with the SunnyD....

Digital layout - Tea & Journaling

I think my favorite thing to do in Mexico was to get up early, put my feet up on the railing, sip my tea and write in my journal about the previous days activities.
