STATIONARY BOX
This is a fabulous kit.
The base of the box starts with a 12x12 sheet of cardstock. You can adjust the sizes of the compartments
to include 3 different sizes of cards, or a notepad, or tags, or anything you
like. You can include a holder for a
pen, and even a pocket for stamps. This
is such a versatile box. In this example – the final base of the box measures
2x6x5. The lid is 2-1/8 x 6-1/8 x 2-1/8. You can create this with just cardstock – but
I wanted my stronger, so I reinforced a lot of it with mat board.
The approximate measurements are as follows:
Notepad: 3x4 Stamp
Pocket: 2x2-1/4 Card envelopes: 3x4 ½ ; 4.5 x 5-3/4; 3.5
x 5-1/8 Tags: 2x3
Largest (back) pocket dimension: 1-1/4 x 6 Smallest (front two) pocket dimensions: 3/8 x 3.5; 3/8 x 2.5
So you basically start with a 12x12 piece of cardstock. Measure up 5 inches from two opposite sides
and score lines. Now cut on the scores
lines in 3 inches on both sides. I chose
to reinforce with mat board, so the black piece is a 2 x 5 piece of mat board I
adhered to the bottom. Then I adhered
the two 2x3 flaps on top of the mat board.
To create the back side of the holder. Score lines as shown:
In my example I did not cut the above piece down to 11
inches wide, I just folded over the extra half inch to the inside on the back
side. The black piece again is mat
board. Adhere as shown – that will
reinforce the two ‘sides’ of the back of the box.
To reinforce the back side of this – cover a piece of 6x5
mat board and adhere to the back.
Here is close up of pockets:
There is one large pock that holds (in this example) 2 different sizes
of cards/envelopes. The ‘blue’ pockets
are two smaller pockets, one for smaller cards/envelopes and the other is for
tags.
Largest (back) pocket dimension: 1-1/4 x 6. Cut piece 1-1/4 wide and 8 inches long –
score 1 in from each end and fold – this is what you will adhere to the
reinforced sides above. You will create
smaller pockets and adhere to the first larger pocket. In my example I covered the two front pockets
with a cover piece of patterned cardstock.
Here is an example of the front two pockets cut and
scored. Size varies based on the cards
you are intending on storing in here.

Here is the lid:
I created the notepad by putting book binding glue on top of
stack of pages and let dry.
