Valentine's Day - Treat ideas - "Mice" treats...

We made these 3 years ago for Valentine's day exchange at school...last year we prepped them all and the kids got to make them as one of their craft projects during the valentine's day party at school.

My kids had the greatest time creating these little itty bitty mice basically out of diecut cardstock hearts and Hershey kisses. Even my 3 year old (at that time) had no problem gluing these little guys together using glue dots.

Supplies:

Cardstock: Club Scrap
Rubberstamps: Club Scrap
Inks: Ranger Industries
Heart Diecut: Sizzix
Glue dots
wiggly eyes
Chocolate candy kisses

Instructions:

1. Cut out one large heart per mouse. The sizzix diecut comes with varying sizes of hearts, so I cut both of the larger sizes of hearts in red, pink, cream, and blue, so that we could layer the "ears" with multiple colors of cardstock.
2. Layer hearts now if desired.
3. I then stamped the "handcrafted..." sentiment on the back of the heart.
4. On the front of some of the hearts, we stamped small hearts.
5. Use mini glue dots to attach wiggly eyes onto the 'face' of the mouse.
6.We used large glue dots to attach the “candy kiss” head to the diecut heart, then attach the “candy kiss” body to the other side of the diecut.

Valentine's Day - Treat ideas - "Airplanes"

Me and my kids made these last year for Valentine's day goodies. On the back end of each one of these we tied a small banner with the To/From names...

Supplies needed per treat:
(1) Stick Gum – Watermelon
(1) Smarties
(2) Lifesaver mints
(1) Rubberband
(1) small piece of red/pink paper
Adhesive
(3) Little Heart stickers (or stamps)

Banner:
Small piece of 1x4 piece of pink or red cardstock
12 inch piece of string
1/8-1/4th Hole punch

Prepare stick gum first by wrapping each piece of stick gum with red or pink paper, adhering edges together underneath gum. If you want to rubberstamp small hearts or images onto the stick gum, do that now.

Now, run rubberband throw the center of the two lifesavers, place smarties between the two lifesavers and resting on the rubberband. Insert end of stick gum into one end of rubberband, then into the other end.

If you want to decorate with little heart stickers, do that now.

Banner: Lastly punch two small holes on one end of cardstock, one at top – one at bottom. Tie the string through the two holes. Tie opposite end of string onto the tail end of the smarties/airplane. You can rubberstamp the TO/FROM onto the banner or handwritten.

Cruise Layout

Well I just had to play with my brand new Club Scrap kit - this one is called "GIMME A RING". Great colors - so versatile and fun prints that will work with just about anything, gotta luv that!! My kit that arrived yesterday - I just adore the kit and have been dying to dig into it. So here is a page to go in my 'cruise' album...amazing how one changes in just 8 short years!! Tata!!

A Study in Red greeting cards....

Here are some quick and easy cards to make - I have slowly been accumulating various 'sayings' for my card fronts (and insides for that matter) - well these cards a fun way to incorporate them all in a very fun way.

All of these stamps used are from Club Scrap. Once I was done with stampig the images - I spritzed the cards fronts with Red Glimmer Mist - and used the heat gun to quick dry them before mounting them. I used the card bases from Club Scrap's A Study in Red GTG card kits.

Altered - Altoid Tin - “Tooth Fairy Box”

I created this cute little box for my 5 year old to put his teeth in for the tooth fairy. He loves it. Pretty much all items used to alter this tin are from Club Scrap’s Mosaic Kit.

Supply List:
-Altoid Tin (empty)
-Handmade paper
-Beads: Bottle caps
-Bottle cap circle word inserts
-Mosaic pieces
-Photo turns
-Tiny embellishment box
-Glossy Accents
-Ribbon: Offray
-Ultimate Crafter’s Pick Glue
-Modge Podge
-Black spray paint
-Rubber mallet or Sizzix machine with attachment

Instructions:

1. Take empty tin and clean out. Close and spray paint black. Let dry.
2. Once dry, cover top with modge podge and add a piece of handmade paper, trim to fit the box top. You can go ahead and measure your tin and use a corner rounder too, if you prefer this method. Add any stickers, words, images, ect. Cover with a coat of modge podge and let dry.
3. For bottle cap embellishment. Flatten bottle caps using a rubber mallet or Sizzix machine (with the Sizzlets attachment). Punch a circle to fit inside bottle cap, ink edges and rubberstamp word. Fill bottle cap with glossy accents and set punched letter into it. Cover the punched circle completely with glossy accents. Add charm or beads as desired. Let dry, takes a while, usually overnight works best. Attach bottle cap to top of box with permanent glue. Let dry.
4. Cover bottom of tin with modge podge and add a piece of handmade paper, trim to fit the box top. You can go ahead and measure your tin and use a corner rounder too, if you prefer this method. Cover the handmade paper with a coat of modge podge, let dry.
5. Top edge. Add a thin ribbon and tie a bow. Use a clear adhesive.
6. Bottom edge. Apply a thin coat of modge podge and run a thin piece of paper around the edge. Allow time to dry. Then use a clear adhesive (like crafter’s pick) and add the small mosaic tiles. Let dry
7. Inside. Measure your tin and use a corner rounder to make the pieces for inserting in top and bottom. At this point I added the poem and photo turns with brads to the background paper. Then apply the modge podge to the PAPER rather than the tin for this step and insert into lid of tin.
8. Inside bottom, again apply modge podge to the paper then insert into tin. Add photos, stickers, etc. Add small box for tooth.
9. Let everything dry and you are all done!

Expandable File Folder...Luv it!!

Here is the snazzy project from the ClubScrap "Avant Garde" kit - it is an expandable file folder - it would be perfect for photos, cards, coupons, or what-have-ya!! Most of the rubberstamps used are from the "Time" kit and the remix "Time" Unmounted stamps!

Swimming in Snow...Mirror Mirror Cards...

Boy reading about all the icy conditions in the mid-western states almost makes me happier that I am 'swimming' in snow here in Montana!! When I say swimming - I watch my kids try to trek out to the play center in the back yard and because the snow is SO deep, they literally are "swimming" through the snow to get there.

I had to walk from my car to the school last night, as my youngest had not shown up oddly, and talk about a work out...geez I was sweating up a storm by the time I made it to the school and back...and the snow wasn't even as deep there - there was less drifting than in my own back yard!!

Ok off to work for me...here are a few cards from the Club Stamp Mirror Mirror GTG card set for viewing!! GTG stands for Greetings to Go, each month I receive a kit of card bases, mats, tags, and envelopes for 15 cards, this is just a sample of a few I made using this months kit along with some of the rubberstamps from Club Scrap.
