Home Decor - Hot Air Balloon Wall Art

Welcome to Club Scrap's Up Up & Away Blog Hop! So glad you came. We were challenged to make something from February's Up Up and Away kit to share with you.

Up, Up and Away Wall Art

I made this great Wall art using all the different Hot Air Balloons from ClubScrap's Up, Up and Away kit in all of the colors of the rainbow!!
To create this project:

1.  Get a 8.5 x 11 frame.  Take 8.5x11 teal cardstock for background.
2.  Tear a 9 in wide piece of cardstock to give rough edge to it.  Hold this piece across the teal cardstock and using a sponge, ink sponge and rub off of torn piece onto the teal cardstock lightly.  Repeat process, moving torn paper around to create 'clouds' onto the background.
3.  Rubberstamp "city skyline" from ClubScraps' Bright Lights, Big City kit in black ink at bottom edge of cardstock.
4.  Create balloons (see instructions below) in various colors and adhere to background.
5.  Rubberstamp "Be a Rainbow in someone else's cloud." sentiment in red ink on white cardstock, cut out and adhere on popdots.
6.  Insert project into the frame and you are done!!

Instructions to make 3D Balloons

1.  Rubberstamp Hot Air Balloon of choice 5 times onto cardstock.
2.  Trim out one balloon as the main base balloon.  Punch the other five balloons out with a circle cutter or punch. Ink edges of each piece.
3.  Fold each of the balloons in half.
4.  Adhere the 5 balloons together, leaving the final 2 flaps not adhered.
I used liquid adhesive, so then I would put the stack of 5 balloons into a clip to dry:
5.  Once adhesive was dry, Add adhesive to the back two flaps of the balloon and adhere to the main base balloon.

These can be made with pretty much any size of ClubScrap's balloon images.  I used some of the teeny tiny ones, clear up the the large one.

Card - Embossed technique

Embossed Flower Embellishments

1.  Rubberstamp images in embossing ink on white cardstock.  Emboss images with white embossing powder.
2.  Using sponges, ink over images with blue and green inks.  If ink stays on embossed images, then just wipe of the ink, so that the white 'pops'.
3.  Punch out flowers with flower punch.  Fold flower petals to give them more of a 3D look and adhere to the card back.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Another card I made.  I think this is my favorite of the 3 Valentine's I made...I am having so much fun with the balloons, they are so awesome.

For this card, I stamped the map image in blue on the blue background cardstock.  I stamped the large Hot Air Balloon in blue ink on cream colored cardstock and trimmed out.  Ink edges.  Punch out 5 hearts and ink edges with pink ink.  I used red floss to stitch strings from balloon to the hearts.  Each heart is adhered to balloon or background with a popdot over top of the stitched floss.  Balloon is also attached to card back on popdots.

Another Valentine's day card

Another Valentine's day card

This is just a quick easy card using one of the smaller hot air balloon images from this month's ClubScrap Up, Up, & Away kit.

For this card, I tore some pieces of cardstock and used blue ink on a finger dauber to ink around the torn cardstock to create "clouds".  I then stamped the Hot Air Balloon image and the sentiment in black ink as shown.  I adhered some punched out 'hearts' falling from the balloon down to the sentiment.

Valentine's Day Card

I am so loving the new Hot Air Balloon stamps from this month's ClubScrap kit.  For this card - I rubberstamped the map image onto the background and inked the edges.  I stamped the large hot air balloon image in blue ink on pink cardstock and cut out.  Inked edges.  I created a mini envelope as a 'basket' and used blue floss to stitch the ropes between the balloon and the basket.  I adhered the balloon and basket to the card.  I filled the basket with heart punchies in shades of pink and red.  Added my sentiment lastly.

Card - Star Butterflies

Stamped image with versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.  Sponge ink colors onto cardstock over embossed images.  Wipe off any colors that stay on the embossed images.  I used the 'star' diecut from Sizzix to cut out two large stars.  I then trimmed off one of the points of the star and rounded two of the star points.  Adhere to card back on pop dots.  Card back was embossed with 'script' and inked with borwn.  Embellished with ribbon.

Card - The Earth without Art is just "eh"

I LOVE this sentiment - ClubScrap comes up with the best creative sentiments!!!  This is a very simple card, but the colors turned out great and really work well together.  I basically stamp the Dandilion image 3 times in each of the 3 colors, stamping off the edge of the paper and leaving room to stamp the sentiment in black ink.
