On this version I stapled fibers as the method for attaching those sides of the pocket!

I basically took a standard folding card (these are all from ClubScrap GTG card kit), I cut a front opening, so that you can view the 'greeting' on the tag, created a tag with sentiment and attached the sides (this one is attached using eyelets) of the card to create a pocket for the tag to slip in and out of....

Project - 3D Spring Explosion Box - Butterfly/Flower original version

Here is the original gift box I designed using the cardstock and flower cut-outs from ClubScrap's Simply Beautiful kit along with ClubScrap's Outdoor Kit butterfly stamp.

Project - 3D Spring Explosion Box - Froggy version

Over the next few days I will be posting a couple of versions of this great 3D Explosion Box with springy embellishments...

So I made my original one of these for Teacher Appreciation day, then proceeded to make a few more for future gift giving.

Now I have done a number of explosion boxes over the years, as they make wonderful gifts for grandparents, teachers, friends, or really anyone. I wanted something *more* than just the average box or standard card. After a number of weeks of mulling over ideas in my head, I settled on a plan. What I finally decided to do was incorporate 3 different ideas into this one fun and creative gift.

These are the three concepts I chose to combine:

1. I modified the standard explosion box to be a single set of flaps that when laying open, looked like a large plus sign, but when folded up, made the four sides of the box base.

2. To the four walls I add these adorable pop-up 3D embellishments that bounce about on clear acetate.

3. Finally, I came up with a nifty design for a little gift card holder that would sit vertically in the center (running corner to corner) at the base of the box, to hold a Starbucks gift card.

When you first open these boxes, you place them on the table or hold flat in your hand, remove the lid and you will see this little piece of art pop to life. Each of the four flaps will fall to the table and the embellishments will bounce with life surrounding the very fun yet practical gift card holder in the center.

WOWZERS Doing a HAPPY dance!!!! Published

I am just way super duper excited AGAIN. I just picked up my mail and when I opened up the envelope, I just started crying AGAIN...how sad is that? I mean really - you'd think I would get used to it, but it still amazes me every time!! and I swear this happens every time - course there has only been 3 times...but it is just so exciting to see *my* artwork on the front cover of a magazine...

Soooooo yes if you didn't figure it out by now, I made it on the cover of October 2009 Scrap & Stamp magazine with my 2nd all time favorite project! This project features ClubScrap's set of 3 Butterflies from the Outdoor kit, stamped on various shades of rainbow cardstock and all adhered to a frame.

I was very thrilled to not only receive the magazines today but the artwork as well. I always worry my artwork won't make it back (or at least back safely and undamaged), but it did this time as well!

Cards - "Boy" birthday cards

Well since I got some 'girl' cards made, I now needed some 'boy' cards.

I took the 4x4 cards and cut a 3x3 opening from front of the cards, added a cream colored insert. I stamped the sports balls (ClubScrap) on the cream. I stamped the Birthday sentiments (ClubScrap) around the outer edge of the frame.

Fast easy, cute cards, will come in very handy having in stock!!

Cards - Girl Birthday

Well I never seem to have enough kids' birthday cards. It is amazing how many birthday parties the kiddos attend.

For these cards, I took standard folded card back from ClubScrap and cut an opening from the front, the perfect match to the girl stamp. I inked all the edges (love that shabby chic look).

I used the "girl" from Stampin' Up and the various "Happy Birthday" sentiments (all from ClubScrap) to frame the girls.

I will definately enjoy having this stash of cards on hand!

Sign of Summer....Sno-cones!!

Talk about spoiling my kid! He kept seeing the mobile sno-cone trailer in town and kept asking for a rainbow sno-cone...and how long can one really resist that adorable face and keep saying NO???? So I got him the biggest one they had - three flavors makes the five colors - Blue Raspberry, Lemon, Cherry - it was all good until he got to the lower part where it was all mixed and he didn't really like the mixed flavors...but he ate every lil bit!

Recipe - Low carb Pizza....yummers!!

So now that I can eat a little more food, I have been dying to try this low carb pizza that I found the recipe online for...

You can't even taste the cauliflower and I told the kids that this was healthier pizza and they are like "but it just tastes like normal pizza" uhhh yeh that is the point!!

I did notice a fair amount of water that came from the cauliflower as I riced it, I would recommend letting the riced mixture sit in a strainer for a bit to drain all the liquid out. I actually did 1 head of cauliflower and it made 5 dinner plate sized pizzas. I cooked up two tonight and will freeze the others for a little later.
