Mini Album - "Star" book

I decided to try my hand at a star book. I just love the look of how it opens up into a beautiful star. You can do a variety of fun cuts on the pages to add fun dimension and interest to it. Definitely a project worth trying out. Most all materials shown in this project are from Club Scrap.

Supply List
pattern paper/handmade paper (Club Scrap Evergreen kit)
5 3/4 inch x 5 3/4 in Mat board (for front and back covers)
Stickers, cut outs, and embellishments
Ribbon (for tying book open or closed)
brads
Templates (optional)
Rubberstamps
Inks
Bone folder
GOOD Adhesive (perhaps redline tape would work good)
modge podge
foam paint brush

Instructions:
Front & Back Covers

1. Cut two pieces of pattern paper (I used handmade paper) 6.5 in x 6.5.
2. Take the 2 pieces of mat board and apply a coat of modge podge to one side. Lay the mat board glue side down on wrong side of pattern paper and hold for a few seconds while glue sets up. Repeat with other set of mat board and pattern paper.
3. Trim the four corners at an angle on both front and back covers, leaving about a 1/16 of an inch of pattern paper at the corners.
4. Apply modge podge to the four flaps (both front and back) and wrap over to the back side of the mat boards. Let dry completely.

Inside pages

1. Cut 7 pieces of card stock 5.5 inches by 11 inches. Fold in half making 5.5x5.5 sections.
2. Cut 7 pieces of card stock 5.5 inches by 9 inches. Fold in half making 4.5x5.5 sections.
3. Cut 7 pieces of card stock 5.5 inches by 7 inches. Fold in half making 3.5x5.5 sections.
4. At this point you need to decide if you want to cut any designs into your pages. Simple cuts like squares, circles, ovals, and hearts are easiest to start with.
5. Once cut, ink edges and rubberstamp as desired at this point.
6. To attach the pages I highly recommend a using a GOOD adhesive since we don't want it coming apart when it is opened up. I used the redline tape. Start with the largest pieces and attach the backside of one folded section to the next and repeat with them all except the last set - those will be adhered to the front and back cover in a bit.
7. Now you can adhere the middle sized sections to the large sections - only adhering along the front edge.
8. Now adhere the smallest sized sections to the middle sized sections - only adhering along the front edge.
9. Now with all three sections folded together flat, wrap a piece of ribbon around the back side leaving the two ends about 12 inches off the front side of the cover.
10. Adhere front and back covers over the ribbon to the first and last page of the largest sized sections using modge podge. Let dry.
11. Now you can add photos, embellishments, stickers, etc as desired.

Good luck and have fun!!
