Project Tutorial - Rubberstamped Candles

Great gift idea. I would pick up a tiered set of three matching candles at Walmart to make great gift sets for the holidays. You can find nice roughly 6 inch white candles for right at $1, so it makes relatively cheap but beautiful handmade gifts.

List of Supplies:

White candle
White tissue paper
Glue stick
Wax paper
Various ink pads
Various rubberstamps

NOTE: I highly recommend practicing first on a small candle – fairly easy once you get the hang of it.

1. Rubberstamp images onto white tissue paper.
2. Cut out image fairly close to edges of image.
3. Put just a touch of glue from glue stick on the candle where you’d like the image to be located. This will help hold the image in place while we go to the next step. You can either put all the images on or put them on as you go – whichever you prefer.
4. Then take the wax paper (if you use your finger nail and scratch the wax paper, you can find the side that is ‘waxiest’ and place that side against the candle, don’t fret tho if you can’t really tell, either side works) and put it over the image you intend to melt into the candle and use the heat gun to carefully melt the wax from the wax paper onto the image on the candle, you will see the image and tissue paper change color and sort of melt into the candle.
5. When you take the wax paper off – if there is spots of tissue showing – just reheat with heat gun a little and carefully tap with finger (it will be HOT wax) and it will disappear.

Have fun!
