Pattern Play Blog Hop!!

Hello and welcome to today's blog!!  Today I am working with Club Scrap's Pattern Play Kit.  I am totally in love with the colors of this kit - with the summer in full bloom the kit reminds me of margaritas with that yummy Lime color!!  So I found these great teas that help reduce stress and I have been giving samples of them away to friends and family to try out, so I found this fun idea online to put teabags in - it holds 6 teabags - and thought I would share with all of you!!  This would make an awesome teacher gift, thank you gift, co-worker gift, stocking stuffer, etc.

Supplies:
(3) 6x6 sheets cardstock
Ribbon
Embellishments
Book binding adhesive
Hole punch

Instructions:

Use this diagram as a template for scoring 3 pieces of 6x6 pieces of cardstock.

Start by centering the 6x6 as a diamond on the scoreboard - score 1.5inches to the left and right of the center as shown:

Rotate the diamond, score down the center of the diamond, score 3/4th in to the right and again to the left as shown:

 Repeat with all pieces as shown:

 Use book binding glue and adhere one flap of each of pieces together, creating a chain and use a hole punch to punch a hole at the tip of triangle as shown:

Slip a teabag into each of the pockets, 6 teabags total and slide a ribbon through the holes:

Pull the ribbon tight and tie the ribbon closed as shown:

June Artist Team Challenge

June Artist Team Challenge

So June's challenge is inspired by Tricia’s May Blog hop layout, which is basically to create pages or cards with ONE LAYER (not counting the photo).

Supplies:
white card stock Club Scrap Delft kit
Stencil - Club Scrap Lock & Key kit
Stencil - Club Scrap Cinema kit
Stencil - Club Scrap Sorrento kit
Brown ink
Blue ink
Dylusions spray ink
sponges

Instructions:
Find the center of the 12x12 cardstock, using a mask, sponge brown ink in triangles around the cardstock as shown:

Using Key stencil - spritz some pink color spray lightly around outer edge.  Remove stencil.

Lay down Cinema stencil, spritz with yellow color spray lightly around as shown, remove stencil.

Dang I missed taking the next picture - lay down the next stencil from Sorrento kit - and spritz green color spray.

Let all that dry - you can use a heat gun to speed up the process if in a hurry.  Next I used a piece of card stock as a mask to create a border around where the photo will be placed - I inked this in blue with a sponge:

I added the photo:

I used the Club Scrap Serengeti kit UM Font rubberstamps to stamp the wording on the layout around the photo:

Added a flower for embellishment:

Mojo Monday Challenge Card #500

Today I am playing along at Mojo Monday Challenge HERE.  So sad to see this is their farewell challenge!! :(

I made two cards, only submitted one to the challenge - but it was such a fun simple sketch I decided to make two cards and use Club Scrap's Color me Happy kit - that kit is just so perfect with the weather just so bright and beautiful right now around here!!

Money Lei

Money Lei

So check out this great fun way to give some money to someone.  My son's girlfriend is graduating from high school this weekend and so I made this Money Lei for her.  For this particular lei, I used (10) $1.00 bills, (10) $2.00 bills, and (2) $10.00 bills - for a total $50.00.  The butterfly uses 2 bills - I used the (2) $10 bills.  The school colors are green and blue, so I used Club Scrap's Refresh kit

You could do any variation from as low as all $1 bills for $22, clear up to whatever amount you like.

Supply List:
Card stock
Ribbon
Crisp money
Bone folder

Instructions:

Accordion fold money.  I held them flat with paper clips.

There will be 8 "mountains" as shown:

Cut cardstock 6x3-1/8.

Score every 3/8th of an inch

Accordion fold cardstock.  Stack a bill on top of cardstock.

Fold up and tied with a ribbon in the center.

Spread flaps out creating a medallion - I used my teeny tiny Tim Holtz stapler to staple the very corners of the cardstock to hold the shape.

To create the necklace.  I took 3 lengths of ribbon and braided them together.  I stapled each end together then hot glued the two ends together.  I started by tying the first 2 green circles on side by side.  Next I threaded the ribbons from a blue one onto a needle and thread it down through the crack of the green one, remove the ribbons from the needle and tie onto the braided ribbon.  Repeat the same process for all of the medallions.

 Used two bills to create a butterfly.

Add the butterfly over top of the original 2 green medallions I tied onto the braided ribbon.
