Club Scrap's Literature kit Blog Hop

Literature Blog Hop!!

Today I am working with Club Scrap's Literature kit.  I made a mini album that contains 3 different sets of accordion album pages in different lengths.  It is kind of a crazy lil book with pages going everywhere. This is a perfect kit for this little album which is am calling 'My Favorite Books".  I printed out the Book covers from a bunch of books I have recently read and loved!!  Each album page has a different 'roof line' creating sort of a 'cityscape' with all of the pages - I think it turned out really cool.  I think my end game with this is - I am going to leave this as Abandoned Art at my local library.  I mean I can't think of a better place for it.

Supply List:
Cardstock and cut out from ClubScrap Literature kit
Rubberstamps
Ink
Ribbon

Instructions:
1.  Cut a 12x12 into 4x12 strips - creating 6 of them.
2.  Score each panel at 3.5in, 7 in, and 10 in - fold on score lines.  Create 3 sets of accordion pages - (1) single (2) 2 panels adhered together (3) 3 panels adhered together:
 3.  Create binding - cut cardstock 4x12 - score every 1 inch. Fold accordion:
 4.  Create a jillion little "house" panels to attach to the accordion album.  I printed out the book covers and adhered to the houses.

5. Once you have all of the 'houses' on the panels - adhere the 1st page of the panels to the accordion fold.

6. When I did it - because I was having a big chunk of accordion pages in the middle of the book - I skipped a few folds on the binding to provide room for the accordion pages.
 7.  On the front/first set of accordion pages - on the first four panels I trimmed them down - each by 1/2in as shown:

 8.  I then cut out sections of the panels as shown, I then added 'fence posts' to these panels:
 9.  Here is the back of the book, where I added ribbon (as a tie closure) I added a large panel on the back to cover up the ribbon adhered to the back of the book.
Here is a number of views of the final project.  It is a very large stretched out project, hope the pictures are able to show you the complexity of this fun project.

This is the final little package that I will leave at the library for some lucky person to find!!

October Artist Team Challenge (Gifts)

OCTOBER ARTIST CHALLENGE

In preparation of the upcoming holidays, many crafty-types are looking for ideas for handmade holiday gifts. The October Challenge is to create a project that would be appropriate for gift-giving.

So this is a fun accordion album with 6 mini drawers for extra goodies/gifts.

Supply list:
Cardstock
6 small matchboxes
Black acrylic paint
Buttons/wooden tags/ribbons/cutouts from Garden shed kit
Embellishments

Instructions:
Get your 6 matchboxes and empty out the matches for using some other time - this is the placement of how you will be adhering them together when the time comes:
Using black acrylic paint - paint one end of the boxes and on two of them the sides.  I also painted the drawers, as shown:
Once painted, place in this pattern and adhere together with liquid adhesive:
Cut a piece of card stock 7.5in x 5.75in.  Score on long edge at 3.5in and 4in (this will be the spine).  This piece wraps around the matchboxes, creating the casing for the matchboxes.

Wrap the scored piece around the boxes and adhere using modge podge or similar as shown:

Decorate drawer fronts with pattern paper and add buttons using waxed thread:

Add a ribbon to the back side of the piece, use pattern paper to cover the attached ribbon, cut smaller than box as shown:

Cut out (5) pieces of card stock for the accordion album - each piece is 5.75x7in - fold each in half as shown:

Adhere the pages together as shown creating accordion:

Adhere the accordion album to the matchbox box:
Now - just decorate the pages with diecuts, flowers, brads, wooden tags, ribbons, etc:

There is all sorts of little things you could put into the drawers.  You could put some candies, mints, coins, cash, small gifts like earbuds, rings, dice, lip balm, stickers, usb drive, sd cards, hair clips, gum, etc.  I made a little key ring charm to put into one of the drawers using a bottle cap and glossy accents, once dry I put on a little chain.

I also made some jewelry and put into the little drawers, there is earrings, bracelet, and a necklace.

I also put some gardening charms into one of the drawers.

So now go check out LILIAN's project next!!!

Halloween ATC's - Wicked Wednesday Challenge

Today I decided to participate in Wicked Wednesday's Halloween ATC challenge.  Theme was cute or creepy!  Well this was quite the challenge for me - I don't really have any Halloween stamps - so I had to see what I could use of my current stash that could possibly be construed as Halloweenish...here is what I came up with:
