April Artist Team Challenge

Embossed Resist Watercolor Bookmarks

Good morning!!

Today the Club Scrap Artist team was given the challenge of picking a single image or project from the "Club Scrap Botanicals Mood Board" on Pinterest.  So I chose this card:
I decided to use this emboss resist watercolor technique and make a set of 4 bookmarks that I can leave as Abandoned Art.

Supplies:
Watercolor paper
Watercolor paint
Embossing powder
Versamark ink
Embellishments (Ribbon, Flowers, brad)

Instructions:
1.  Cut out 4 pieces of watercolor paper 8x2 inches.
2.  Using versamark ink, stamp images onto paper.  Use white embossing powder and emboss with heat gun.
3.  Paint over entire piece of stamped cardstock with water and then a light wash of watercolor.  Use a wet wipe or papertowel and dab any pooled paint off of the embossed images.  Let dry.

4.  Spritz bookmarks with water.  Using a darker shade of watercolor, dab drops of color in various spots on bookmarks. Let dry.
5.  Use corner punch to round corners.  Use script stamp and light brown ink to stamp script in spots that are not embossed with images.

6.  Used light and dark brown ink and ink the edges of the bookmarks.  Punch hole and add ribbons.  Adhere some flowers with brads.

Retirement Card - Watercolored images

I made this retirement card for a long time friend and co-worker.  I have totally been on a watercolor kick.  This is made with water color paints filling in the stamped images.
