Layout - Week 2 PSL layouts

Let's see...I think the specifics on this challenge were to use a product like paints, inks, glimmer mist, perfect pearls, etc. on our layouts.

First layout I used regular ink, but also used stickles on the butterfly wings.

Second layout I used acrylic paint.

Third layout I used distressed inks and glimmer mist spray.

Project - Cupcake boxes (kids' birthday)

Well my kiddo wanted to have his birthday party at "The Zone" and he only wanted 3 friends to join him. When I asked about whether or not I could bring in cupcakes - didn't figure I needed a whole cake for 5 kids - they said NO due to some law...so I decided to make the cupcakes and send them home with the kids in their goodie bags, so they weren't *eating* them at the facility. So I found a pattern for a box at donteatthepaste.com site. Their pattern was for printing out, cut and fold, but I wanted my own patterned paper (from ClubScrap Matrix kit) - I cut a hole in the top of each box and glued in some acetate, so that you could 'see' the cupcake in there. I think they turned out pretty nice.

Digital Layout - Waterhouse Hawkins

Created this using a mix of Club Scrap digital kits - love all the purples!!

Boy I really LOVE the new Raku kit which is the base of this layout - The kit is so full of life and gorgeous colors. Ok so I took the challenge for doing a mix of kits and attached it was I came up with.

I love mixing kits and do it regularly. In order to make things easier for
me to mix kits as well as find things a bit easier, every couple of months I
sort my digital CS files into categories of colored papers, embellishments,
fibers, flowers, etc. Then when I have my photos chosen, I decide on what
color of papers I want, then I can just go to that folder and pick papers.
Once I have the main layout done, I jump into the fibers and/or
embellishments folder and add my little extras. I also have all my stamped
images in a folder so that I can easily skim through them and choose
something that is appropriate for my layout. In this layout, I used papers
from three different kits (BeStill, Raku, Simply Beautiful), stamp from the
Mocha kit, flowers from CommonThreads, brad from BeStill, Alphas from Raku,
Embellishment from SummerCampPSL.

Cards - Destinations GTG #7

Used the Brick wall technique.

You basically stamp your image in black onto a piece of patterned (or plain) cardstock. Then cut the image up into pieces - I used 1 in x 1/2 in pieces - you want to stagger the cut lines, so that it turns out looking like bricks stacked. When you adhere to the card front, leave jagged edges on the sides.

This card is using the "Brick" Technique again that I describe earlier this week.

You basically stamp your image in black onto a piece of patterned (or plain) cardstock. Then cut the image up into pieces - I used 1 in x 1/2 in pieces - you want to stagger the cut lines, so that it turns out looking like bricks stacked. When you adhere to the card front, leave jagged edges on the sides.

Cut corner to corner using an exacto knife, peel back triangles, ink edges, use brads to attach the flaps. I did add some small popdots under the flaps to give a curled puffy look.

This card has a circle cut out of the center of the card, with an image inside the card. Overlap another circle over the cut out circle. Embellish with flowers.

Used the Brick wall technique.

I love this technique - it has such a great look to it. It is a bit time consuming and you definitely want a sharp blade in your cutter.

You basically stamp your image in black onto a piece of patterned (or plain) cardstock. Misc - Kids dressed as Genghis Khan

So our favorite place to eat, HuHot - had a "dress like Genghis Khan" promotion. If you wore 3 articles of clothes like Genghis - you got your meal free. So the kids opted to dress up. I made part of their outfits using some of my metallic scrapbook papers. I made their cute lil gold hats and their silver belt buckles out of scrapbook papers!!

Layout - Week 1 PSL layouts

Here is (3) 2 page layouts for my Cruise album. I am bound and determine to get this album done at some point - so I figured joining PSL (Pro-Scrappers League) with ClubScrap was a perfect opportunity to kick my rear into gear.

The first weeks' challenge was using stencils - so here are the layouts from that challenge.

The first two layouts are using papers from the Retreat kits, and the last layout is from the brand new Comics Kit.

Project - St. Patty's day accordion album

Soooo I took the ClubStamp Project from the Blossom kit and turned it upside down (so instead of a flower pot...) and now its a Leprechaun's hat! Instead of flowers in the pot - I used a heart punch and made clovers. I just followed the instructions included in the kit to create the album and now it is ready for my St. Patty's day pictures of the kiddos!
